Just returned from the Braeside House Family Open Day in Devizes where we ran some Solar observing sessions.

Braeside Education Centre is one of the locations I use to deliver my science courses for able children, but this event was a bit different!

Over 1200 visitors during the day and we had a few queues for the telescopes at times.

I was joined by my course assistant Alice Burrows who did a sterling job educating everybody and showing them how to use the telescopes safely.  Alice is off to university herself this autumn to start an astrophysics degree - she'll end up knowing more about it all than I do!
